Field of Poppies

Something about this image is so relaxing. Today was finals day for summer semester, so I suppose “relaxing” is exactly what I need right now.

But honestly, this painting is sumptuous. The field is vibrant and moving. The colors practically reach off the canvas and wrap you in a fragrant spring hug. Look at that field…you could spend an afternoon in a field like that, miles away from any worries.

That’s what I love about Van Gogh. He translated a passionate, powerfully tormented life into color, he captured and enriched moments which speak to everyone.

I needed a little beauty today and I found it.
